Her Solitary Wish

Her Solitary Wish

A Poem by Scarlet M.

Everybody wanted to be noticed

except her,

she only wanted to be loved;

genuinely, with no disguise of lust

or friendship combined.

She was the girl who everyone wanted

but did not dare to love.

Your description of this girl is a little elusive . . . we kinda get a feel for her, but only in little glimpses. I especially love the part about not wanting to be noticed & not wanting lust disguised as friendship. This describes many of us. The last line is a little haunting, leaving us wondering where that comes from, why would this be? And also, in a way, I feel it could be me.
