Silent Orison

Silent Orison

A Poem by Scarlet M.

Each day I wish, for a person I have yet to meet

each night I pray, this time, grant me dear God

a love that’s not too bittersweet.

Today, I wait for you, my beloved,

the next person, I would cry out to,

in sadness through and through.

The one who would make my heart squeeze

in both happiness and displease;

To the next person who is bound to break me apart

I pray this time, dear God,

grant me strength to let go

when he comes, a person, I have yet to know.

Those wishes, needs and wants can leave us wishing for perfect place and love. Rarely can happen and when does. We best enjoy the dance. Perfection is just a myth. I like the flow of thoughts leading to honest ending. Thank you Scarlet for sharing the excellent poetry.
