A Mistake For An End

Let me share a story I wrote when I was in elementary. I'm not sure if I was in grade 2 or 3 when I wrote it though. This is the revised version since there is no way to find the original copy.

Once there was a poor boy who
sneaked in a ship with his dog,
hoping for a better life in other island.
The boy was just 13 and lived with his
dog ever since his parents die. While
hiding down the deck he found out
that there was a thief in the ship. He knew he would be in trouble if
someone discovered him and his dog
but he couldn't help it. He tried to
warn everyone but instead of
listening to him they got mad. They
suspected him as the criminal. While everyone was gathered around him,
insulting him, his dog found the thief
trying to escape with the precious
things he stole. The dog followed him,
barked at him and attacked him.
Eventually the dog bite him and died.
The people accused the dog of being
wild and insisted to throw it into the
sea. The boy explained but no one
listened. The boy stopped a man who
wanted to throw his dog but the man
pushed him away causing the boy
some injury. The dog got mad and
attacked the man causing the people
to panic. Eventually the people were
able to throw the dog out of ship,
letting it drown into the sea. The boy
was not able to do anything but cry
for losing the only family he had. The
people were happy when a lady
stepped on a bracelet recognizing as
her own. The people looked at it and
it was from the thief's coat. They also
found some of their belongings
realizing the dead man was indeed a
thief. A doctor came to check the man
announcing he died from heart attack
and not from the dog bite.
Everyone was quiet but their guilt
wouldn't change anything. As they
stay quiet, a splash was heard. The
boy jumped down the sea to be with
his friend and family, to the dog who
died because of false accusation and
for protecting him.
