Ode to Winter

Ode to Winter

A Poem by Darcy

Ode to Winter

I dread you all summer long

but love you a little too

dreading all your ice and snow

if you only knew

The blizzards simply

terrify me into a gloom

Im just wishing and praying

you wont put me in my tomb

Its a little pretty

watching the snow swirl by

safe inside my house

I just have to sigh

Why do you have to freeze

the rivers and the lakes

turning it all to ice

for goodness sakes!

The stingy ice

cold air

is freezing my

wet hair

Icicles all over

hanging and falling

from the buildings, soon

spring will be calling

So here I am

still I pout

walking outside

it is so cold out!
