Swallowed

Swallowed

A Poem by Saving Grace

Eyes dark and heavy, stinging at the light.

Fading into darkness, a young girl lost her life.

Alone and scared she wondered about the deadly place.

So many that did surround her, but all fell far from grace.

As the light grew dimmer, she fled beneath the streets,

Pointed in one direction and began to move her feet.

Never did the young girl meet her destination,

Cruelty fell between the two and not a soul could save her.
