The Road of Least ResistanceA Poem by Saving Grace
I've traveled down this road before. Where the innocent souls have been swallowed by humanity. I have drank from the spout of eternity Only to find a hollowed out soul. Comforting memories turning sour in my stomach. I can count them in my delirious state. I have borrowed all that can be bought Yet I scrounge for self worth in an everlasting field of abandon. I shrink myself down to size so I can notice each and every flaw. I prostitute truth and welcome any who dare to object. I possess hope in finding peace of mind at the bottom of this broken barrel. I drowned out your memory like a bad dream and pray it stays in its hidden depth. I circulate the blood stream of this earth as quietly as I can so not to disturb the peaceful sleeping of the moon and its tide. I am feared by those who oppose me and am hated by those not brave enough to try. I am thought crazy by most who lend an ear to my dramatic sense of feeling for no one understands the world in such a way. Life is monsoon of tragic endings and pathetic lies. We are all floating on vanity and selfishness that we cant not see the light, sitting in the dark, I'm calling you to my side I'm praying on this night as my last stand for freedom. Who? Who will join my conquer of dependency Shall we own this night as it is our own? riding on the backs of those who enslaved us here, we are revolutionizing this very earth. and we shall hold it up whom ever is worthy in forgiveness.
