The Mail Carrier

The Mail Carrier

A Poem by Savanna Robbins

I’m the middle man

I receive packages and envelopes, for many neighborhoods

I pass important messages, persuasive advertisements, letters from loved ones

I feel like I’m important

Crucial for keeping us correspondence

Because I am always working

Whether it’s snowing or rainy

Because mail doesn’t stop coming

And people don’t stop expecting it

I’m proud of my job title

And I fee a useful member of society
