For Our Veterans

in honor of Veterans Day

They marched for us

With weapons

To beat our enemies 

To help us maintain 

Our country’s safety

Some died on the field

Some died afterwards, from injury

Some died years later

Either way they are heroes

They rank above Superman or Batman 

Because they risked their lives

So our country would be home

For people, centuries to come

It is fitting they should be honoured. Selfless service in defence of their own country. They should be remembered. We have Remembrance day over here which is in November.
