Half or Whole

Half or Whole

A Poem by Savanna Robbins
"

How we look at a glass

"
Half full or half empty
People may ask
Do you see light or darkness
If it's half empty
You may see
War, disease, abandonment
All piled in a corner
To be buried among the dead
If it's half full
You probably see
Innocence, shelter, even rainbows
Now my question is
Which do you see

I used to see through a glass darkly, but now definitely half full. This does not always mean I see sunshine and rainbows, but I do believe in a greater purpose and that all will be well. Certainly, I believe that we can create our own reality with our minds, which is what your poem alludes to.

It is thought provoking and I like the question at the end of the poem, inviting the reader to participate.
