My EscapeA Chapter by Savanna RobbinsRebecca escapes from the lab
The new security guards me as if I am a mass murderer, with curt glances and soft snickering. As he opens the door to give my food, I bolt. My feet burn from running on the rough surface, but I catch him by surprise. He attempts to block me, but I jab him in the throat. I head left to the front entrance which looks beautiful from the outside. I hear a bullet whizz pass my head as I grab for the door handle. Knowing I will never truly experience a brush with death, this does not deter me as I press onward. I see the electric fence before me as I hope to not be slowed by it. It is merely an obstacle that I just remove. I burst through the door and for a moment feel the sun warm my face, before I must continue running. My fiery red hair billows behind me and my green eyes squint. I see a large tree and I scurry up it before I hear footsteps. "You cannot hide freak of nature." Thanks to the large branch, Rebecca is shielded for hours as they search.
