Silence

Silence

A Poem by sav

No,
Don't speak.
Don't let any sound
Tumble out of your mouth.
Not a word
Not a laugh
Not a whine.
Suppress your thoughts
Become your own best friend.
Speaking is bad.
Speaking leads to madness
And yelling
And screaming.
Then slamming
And hitting
And leaving.
Don't speak.
Stay,
Silent.

Liked the minimalist style of this one. There are few words, but they lead the writer's imagination nicely. The topic is domestic abuse and the advice is good. Silence really can be golden on some occasions.
