Just a poem about fears, captivity, and freedom..oh, and my favorite: love. :) Enjoy!
Darkness surrounds meDepression takes holdChains hold me captiveThe air is so cold.Fear settles inI try to get freeNo light in this darknessI wish I could see.A lock clicks lightlyMy heart jumps in my throatA door opens softlyThey're coming to gloat. The soft sound of footstepsReaches my earsThe flare of a matchLighting my fears. But the face that I seeIs not the one I expectedIt looks on mine withLove I thought I'd rejected.A hand reaches outAnd unlocks my chainsI'm finally freeTo love again.
