A Friend is...

this is how a friendship should be

A friend is someone who never leaves your side

No matter what, there arms are open wide

They make you laugh when you are sad

And always apologize after each fight you’ve had

 

A friend stays loyal and true

As long as the sky stays blue

They stick up for you day and night

Even if that means getting in a fight

 

A friend knows you inside and out

Because that’s what friendship is all about

They know what you are thinking about at all times

Especially when you try and tell them lies

 

A friend never forgets important stuff

Even when things in their life get rough

Because they are too much to forget

They can’t let you down when you have your heart set

 

A friend is the one person who understands you

Because they are thinking the same thing too

Everyone needs a friend by their side

To get through the high and lows of the tide
