THE CASTLE...A Poem by saunvedA poem of how a child believes his home to be a castle...
My shelter,
the castle of gold, was once my home-sweet-home, running through its doors I sang, through its corridors I galloped! Deep, deep, mazes I solved, dark corners I lighted with laughter, sweet memories I planted in floor white, upon my pillow...alone sometimes...I cried! By its fountain tall I played, its water splashing all around, with awe I looked at the portraits tall- and smile I did at them all! But then, I left, or it left me so to say, somewhere in my mind I keep, those long lost corridors, where someday I hope, to gallop again...to be free! Till then, I weep silently, though the tears...they come not- laughter ends at the strike of a joke... cruelty grips...and only fear follows... Castle it was to me, my golden castle tall- and though many a castle I see... it was MY castle... deep and long! © 2012 saunvedAuthor's Note
