If I Ever Meet Myself

If I Ever Meet Myself

A Poem by Saumya
"

A soliloquy poem

"

If I ever happen to meet myself,

I'd sit graciously on silence's table,

And study my evolved,

yet un-evolved self,

Undisturbed, unhurried, un-agitated,

By world's brightest gulf.

...and smile back, as I watch myself.

If I ever happen to meet myself,

I'd sit cozily on peace's table,

And watch my wounded,

yet un-wounded self,

Un-agitated, un-deviated, unmoved,

By world's sorry self

...and smile back, as I watch myself.

If I ever happen to meet myself,

I'd sit calmly on agony's table,

And observe my painful,

yet not too painful self,

Unmoved, undaunted, unleashed,

By world's weirdest self,

...and smile back, as I watch myself.

If I ever happen to meet myself,

I'd sit gladly on glee's table,

With my eyes smiling, and smiling at myself,

Unaffected, unguarded, unremitted,

By world's unrequited self.

...and grin back, at myself.

If I ever happen to meet myself,

Twill indeed be a blessed,

contending  miracle,

As that's when I could pat

Amd greet myself,

In real, In real, In real!

And make this fact to myself perceivable,

That Our world may sure often demand struggles,

And our mere existence in it,

May just be negligible,

But we never gotta forget

To stay hopeful,

smile and giggle at ourselves,

No matter how hard,

or harder are the struggles,

As that's the very fuel,

That can truly cause miracles,

In a world,

Often obsessed with struggles!

And then with a grin,

A sparkling hope within,

I'll bid myself,

A safe, sweet, serene,

farewell.

oh i really like this idea...to meet oneself...gauge a life, a personality....would we smile at ourselves or frown?
would we be undaunted? would we be at peace with our image staring back at us?

something in Oedipus talked about ..."a man on his death having no regrets" or something to that measure.
Life has regrets and pitfalls, we cannot avoid them. But, if we can even the ledger by happier times or good deeds...we can die humble and hopefully with some contentment. Nicely done.

I liked the message you have conveyed. Despite the struggles hold on and look back at yourself with love.
Being hopeful is what one misses sometimes, your words are really inspiring. Keep writing and sharing.

How creative a write is this, and so very interesting to read. It conjures up all sorts of thoughts. We travel through our lives rarely knowing who we are or even knowing how others perceive us to be. A chance to dissect our inner selves and see what we are truly made of. Would we be content with the results or wanting to run away and hide in the corner? I wonder.

Awesome concept! How lucky we would be to have the chance. I like how you make it so humbled by the chance, showing how we'd soften ourselves in that moment.

My pleasure
A beautifully reflective poem that sees a positive outcome from every emotion. Some of life's paths may be stony, but the stout boots of optimism allow us to tread them more easily.
A lesson for all of us, written from a unique viewpoint . Saumaya to Saumaya.
Loved it

this is is superb in brilliance and the eloquent articulate language and the feeling you portrayed here of looking at yourself or oneself (for us) is brilliant.
i for one would not like to meet myself apparently i have a heap of flaws but hey maybe if i did meet myself over coffee i could finally explain to myself that i am me and to accept me as i am
thanks for this wonderful piece of work!! really
