After 53 years of marriage (to the same woman) I have no doubts about the qualities that you have expressed. They can be as tough, as they are caring; as dominant as they are compliant, and I wouldn't be here writing , if mothers did not exist.
Your poem has expressed all this far more gracefully than me .
Norm.
I assume this one is written with women in general in mind, rather than any particular woman. Has the sound of a fable, in which women's important role in the scheme of things is emphasized. Indeed, the world would not be the same without the presence of women. Nicely worded.
This is beautiful work, Saumya.
I especially loved the line She possessed a heart warmer than the sun.
The imagery (the visual poetry, as they call it) is wonderful too.
I love your elegant take on the arts.
Selflessness and approval are important in life. We care about others feelings more than our own and sometimes it's difficult but can be rewarding. I also enjoy the personification you used when you say "the flowers giggled, and nature smiled".
I really liked it..And I felt as if my mother was portrayed in this poem..You know this is not the story of just my mother but of many mothers and this poem sounds fit even for mother's day..I loved the way you said that she cared for everyone but not respected by everyone..It touched me so deeply...What a heart -touching poem!!I loved every single bit of it...Even though the world cannot survive without her still people don't think before committing heinous crimes like female foeticide..If she lives , then the world will live , otherwise..I just loved this poem and the way you carved your thoughts in this beautiful poem of yours was just mindblowing..
Keep on writing...

So glad you liked the poem, and could relate well too. It's not my words, but the immense virtue that they are enriched with, inspired me enough to write this :)
