That Dream

That Dream

A Poem by Saumya

I saw you today,
i saw you today,
i saw you today,
my Granny!

You looked lovely,
You looked cute,
You looked so sweet
my Granny!

we laughed,
we talked,
and enjoyed a lot
my Granny!

You  kissed my cheeks
i kissed your
cheeks,
and i hugged you tight
my Granny!

we laughed for long,
and talked for long,
and everything around
was so calm...

I could feel the air,
I could feel smell the flowers,
and
could  really feel
the essence
of your rhymes and stories!

you asked me about my well being,
and i always replied smiling,
and your smile
was so soothing

The stars twinkled beautifully,
and the fireflies danced wonderfully,
and everything around
was so heavenly!

I slept in your lap,
before all turned fad,
and you kissed me on my head
and caressed me
my Granny!

you smiled at me
and i felt your smile,
although my eyes were closed
completely..

I felt like a kid
who was with a fairly,
who knew and
loved her truly!
and made her feel heavenly..

I forgot for those moments,
that you don't exist actually,
but that what i dreamt
proves me wrong completely.

although you aren't alive
but you still dwell in me
my Granny!
Dream is the place
which still keeps us together
my dear Granny!

I loved you that day,
I love you today,
and will love you forever
my Granny!

And may the dream
i saw that day,
be one of those
i often see...

Your poem is full of hope, admration, sound and flashback. Straight forward and to the point. I really enjoy it. Well done.

Grannies must be the best 'parents' we ever had. That was a strong dose of nostalgia

......and everything around was heavenly. Who among us did not feel like this with their grandmas around? These are fond memories, Saumya. Thanks for 'rebooting' me.

Im not sure how i felt about this piece, i mean the meaning and emotion behind it is tender and wonderful but the actual work lacks something im sorry to say. The flow seems off and it seems to drag on , i love the message though it is sweet and honest and that is a vital piece in writing these days. I feel its a little repetitve in parts and sometimes even though its intentional it has not worked

Saumya, wow this is so powerful and touching. The flow of the poem carried my heart right away. If that makes any sense, haha. You have done a beautiful job. I do not like this poem; I LOVE it. I can relate to this. I believe every writer on this website can relate. I have lost too many family members in my lifetime. I may have known a few of them and the rest I never met, but it still has affected my every day life. I lost my grandfather this year actually: February the 28th. One of those tough and dreary days that you do not want to face. He did not live nearby and he had called to check up on my mama and me. I told him about my latest accomplishments and etc. He gave me some helpful tips and said "I love you." I cannot erase that precious memory from my mind even though it hurts me deep inside. I have had dreams with him talking to me. That is where I can relate. I still have my granny from my daddy's side of the family. I once had a dream that she was taken away with God hands out to her. I woke up crying. I thought it was a sign saying it was her time near. We often take for granted the people in our lives. I am glad that you think of your family as important and still write about them. Family means everything to me.

Excellence; like always!! :)
