this is a poems which talks about the powers that have freely been given to you and helps us weigh how we use them...
You can make others happy, or you can make them sad..
you can encourage others, or you can demoralize them..
You can quieten someone bitterly weeping, or you can cause someone to weep..
You can love people, or you can hate them..
You can be a good friend, or you can be a great foe..
You can be like a cool breeze, or you can be a grand storm..
You can be interesting, or you can be irritating..
You can be the best source of inspiration, or you can be the huge source of degradation..
You can be very precious, or you can be really useless...
You can make others feel great joy, or you can make them feel deep pain..
You can turn others to be optimistic, or you can turn them to be big sadists...
These are the powers, given freely to you, and its totally upon you, that what out of these, you choose... And these make the person, who today, are you.
these are your powers of being you..... given to you, so that you can easily choose, what goes really well for you.. and the world knows you, for what qualities you deeply have in you... and not that, which you and your heart clearly knows, should not lie in you..! so, whatever you are today, please be true to you.... and celebrate your powers of being.... ......YOU.
This has a great message as well. We were given free will to choose, and many of us have chosen poorly. I guess given my negative view of the world and those in it, I am choosing to be demoralizing. However, when I look, there doesn't seem to be much reason to choose differently, as it appears there really is no other choice.
A lot of the time, I also feel useless, rather than precious. Is that really a choice?
This, for me at least, is both uplifting and depressing in equal measure. However, it is really thought provoking.
Oh, I really like this one! You have put the responsibilty for who we are squarely upon our own shoulders, where it rightfully belongs! Masterfully done!
And I pray that my influence may always be positive...
"These are the powers, given freely
to you,
and its totally upon you,
that what out of these,
you choose...
And these make the person,
who today, are you."
I really enjoyed reading this poem :)
I always try to be good but sometimes some bad effects happens to me..
so am learning in this fast pace life ..
Another wonderful poem saumya :)
Keep writing!!
You've covered all the bases here when it comes to the so-called Human Condition...it really drives home the element of duality in all of us, and how we're capable of good and bad in equal measure...well done :)
These are the powers, given freely

so, whatever you are today,
please be true to you....
nice n true feelings poured out in the lines, worth pondering and following, liked them :)
Very 'yin and yang' Saumya but also very true. At least I believe that if we take a moment and contemplate how to deal with each facet of life we are faced with we would probably choose the better way of doing things. Some of the grammar later on in the poem gets a bit messy and hurts the clarity and flow of your poem but it is nothing that couldn't be edited easily.
"that what out of these" should be "which of these" or "which out of these".
and
"And these make the person,
who today, are you." should read something like "and these make 'up' the person,
"who 'you' are today."
Also, 'Optimism' is not the opposite of 'Sadism' but the opposite of 'Pessimism'. Keep up the inspiring work!!
