feelings of a student about saying goodbye to the school where she had studied for 14 years!!!!!!
When one day passes,
The other comes,
Everything changes,
Leaving some,
The 'LOVE', the 'CARE', the 'concern' and
'JOY', that I have received here, was a great fun.
Now has the day come to bid Adieu,
To these wonderful feelings I received.
When I remember, those days so sweet,
When I was a kid of four or five!!
My school taught me, the "ART OF LIFE"..
The way to 'sit', the way to 'stand', the way to
'take', the way to 'understand'
All of this, which were first to me unknown,
My teachers and parents made to me known.
Now, today, after days long back,
When i sit and remember those lovely days,
I can deeply feel the love, care and concern,
Besides those scoldings those days.
I also remember those, swings so sweet,
The lovely flowers, and rhymes so sweet,
like 'TWINKLE-TWINKLE' and 'CHUBBY CHEEKS' .
Time has passed, and I have grown,
No more swings, and no more rhymes,
but its not that, that there's no fun.
When today,I look at the children so cute,
Of three, or four, or five of age:
I can perceive the ART OF LIFE;
It's nothing great, but only this,
"WHEN YOU LIVE, DAY TO DAY;
LIVE TO GIVE, because , the MORE YOU
GIVE, THE MORE YOU LIVE !!!
MY teachers also taught me a wonderful thing;
about success; that,
"DO ANYTHING; but with THE WILL TO WIN".
I hope what i want to say is--
"WHEN YOU LIVE DAY TO DAY ;
Don't live by what people, remark or say;
"BUT, LIVE BY WHAT YOU KNOW IS
TRUE."
Finally to conclude, I'd only say;
"O my lovely school, and wonderful
Teachers,
When I'll adieu ;
I'll really, really, really,
MISS YOU!!!!!!!!
Awww.............. very cute, but it made me sad! I loved this poem! *tear* I think my friend may be feeling the same way. She had to leave our school system because her family had to move, and she mooovvvveeeedddd reeeaaaaaallllllyyyyyy fffffaaaaaarrrr aaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyy. But, she'll be going back to our school next year, so YAY! One question... Is the poem about you, or somebody else?

"The more you give, the more you live." I like that. :)
As for missing school, isn't school starting up here again pretty soon ? And yes, teachers are quite wonderful. While I have almost always enjoyed the classes they teach, I must confess, I was rather fond of my math teacher beyond simple calculi back in 4th grade. ;)

I finally spoke my affection for my math teacher, and she gave me an odd look and said that's very nice. Then I said I wanted to marry her. This was after class when everyone else had left.
She had me sit down in a chair and she sat on the edge of her desk. Then she asked me, "Do you really think I am that pretty ?"
"Yes ma'am !" I said eagerly.
She smiled softly then said, "Tell you what. When you grow up and you still feel this way, why don't you look me up then ?"
So I promised I would - and - actually I hadn't really thought about it since then. Feelings and emotions are so fleeting - likely I got distracted by something else over time. But that was a ticklish moment in life for me. :)

Dad was a great man no doubt, but there were times in my life when he just didn't have time for me. And - my life did in fact fork out in one unusual direction, which I don't feel bad for today.
Teachers were there for me when my parents weren't. I think at some level they knew this and often I did stay after class to clean the blackboard or clean the desks and stuff, just cause I really didn't wanna go home just yet.

It's funny, when you're a kid you'll do anything to grow up, to be an adult. All grown up now, I would do anything just to be a kid again - to have that wonder, innocence, and curiosity of yesteryear. To relearn life. I would do it again if I could. :7

Not just another pin in the cushion of "I grew up" poetry. Gripping, to the point where I would like to know more. Like how you perceived time during your happier days instead of the reminiscence of it all. Very good read, above par, and what have you.
A touching adieu. Life is a journey, which takes us to different places and introduces us to many people, some of them we forget, some stays in our heart forever.
This brought back memories of teachers that I absolutely loved. I think about my fourth grade teacher Ms. Mundy who made sure I was the best me I could be; and who loved her students so much that she became a fifth grade teacher and had the same class the next school year. I think about my 11th grade teacher Ms. Larossa who enjoyed my slavery poem so much that she had it submitted to the school's literary magazine; which inspired me to take my writing to a new level. And my 12th grade English teacher who always enjoyed my writing, whether it be a report, or a monologue.
Goodbyes are always so sad. As we grow up, and leave childhood behind us, there are many goodbyes...but we must remember, for everyone of these sad goodbyes, there is a brand new "hello"...
