WHEN I'LL BID ADIEU

feelings of a student about saying goodbye to the school where she had studied for 14 years!!!!!!

  When one day passes,
The other comes,
Everything changes,
Leaving some,
The 'LOVE', the 'CARE', the 'concern' and
'JOY', that I have received here, was a great fun.

Now has the day come to bid Adieu,
To these wonderful feelings I received.
When I remember, those days so sweet,
When I was a kid of four or five!!
My school taught me, the "ART OF LIFE"..

The way to 'sit', the way to 'stand', the way to
'take', the way to 'understand'
All of this, which were first to me unknown,
My teachers and parents made to me known.

Now, today, after days long back,
When i sit and remember those lovely days,
I can deeply feel the love, care and concern,

Besides those scoldings those days.
I also remember those, swings so sweet,
The lovely flowers, and rhymes so sweet,
like 'TWINKLE-TWINKLE' and 'CHUBBY CHEEKS' .

Time has passed, and I have grown,
No more swings, and no more rhymes,
but its not that, that there's no fun.
When today,I look at the children so cute,
Of three, or four, or five of age:
I can perceive the ART OF LIFE;
It's nothing great, but only this,
"WHEN YOU LIVE, DAY TO DAY;
LIVE TO GIVE, because , the MORE YOU
GIVE, THE MORE YOU LIVE !!!

MY teachers also taught me a wonderful thing;
about success; that,
"DO ANYTHING; but with THE WILL TO WIN".

I hope what i want to say is--
"WHEN YOU LIVE DAY TO DAY ;
Don't live by what people, remark or say;
"BUT, LIVE BY WHAT YOU KNOW IS
TRUE."

Finally to conclude, I'd only say;
"O my lovely school, and wonderful
Teachers,
When I'll adieu ;
I'll really, really, really,
MISS YOU!!!!!!!!

Awww.............. very cute, but it made me sad! I loved this poem! *tear* I think my friend may be feeling the same way. She had to leave our school system because her family had to move, and she mooovvvveeeedddd reeeaaaaaallllllyyyyyy fffffaaaaaarrrr aaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyy. But, she'll be going back to our school next year, so YAY! One question... Is the poem about you, or somebody else?

There is a sweet nostalgia and affection here that captures the sense of sadness as life moves forward. You remember some of the things you learnt about living your life; now you move on to live that life and learn new ways and adjust to new experiences. Being positive about the future is so good - as well as showing gratitude for the past.

i was taken aback when i realized your schooling was 14 years all in the same school! How nice to be able to build friendships witheveryone there. Here it is different for grade school, Junior High and High School.
I felt the gradual growth of your young life like a well protected and loved garden, growing day by day in your poem.
The goodness and discipline is seen within.
"Sit, stand, take, understand are building and strengthening themes of your young life's learning and meant of carry you into the rest of your life.

Dear Kathy, school has been a treasure for me, and will.always be, since it's been my second home where I grew intellectually as a person I'm now😊 and i feel really previleged to be there.Though I'm not there anymore,but I do have a lovely part of my school in my heart that often reminds me of the lovely days there, and fills my eyes in tears of Love for how very much it gave to me💖and sure ,I shall always remain indebted to it for those days😇😊

i never experience this because my schooling were like this
1-4
5-7
8-10
11 & 12
all in different schools and but still i have contacts with my friends who studied with me in 1-4 also. that's really a nostalgia.

After i read your poem i understand how much i miss those days.

Sometimes it is not about the no. Of years that you studied in a school, but that simple yet deep attachment with the people and environment there that you miss😊 glad to know you still are in touch with your school friends, 'they are some very precious assets of life one can ever have'!😊

This morning I'm digging back into your archives to find something older that I haven't read yet. This is a precious piece of YOU that shows us the kind, gentle, grateful spirit you possess. So many people do not appreciate the little things in life, or they take for granted many of the basic school lessons, especially the lessons on living, as you've presented here. So many times we just think of the "subjects" we learn in school, like science & math or English and drama. But I like the way you're appreciating the way our school years teach us our first experiences with getting along & meeting new people & working as a team. I'm so glad to know that you liked the very simplicity and the originality of this write-up of mine☺
This piece indeed is a very precious one for me, since this is the first poem that from where I unknowingly started my journey as a writer and poet, and this scribbling of mine was surprisingly published in our first school magazine too☺ to scribble something and get it recognized as a piece of art liked by so many, and to see that published is seriously the happiest and most special feeling ever😊
It was when I wrote, got appreciations, and saw it published in my school magazine that year, it inspired me so much that I started more and more as often I could and see I've around 20 to 30 write-ups of mine here itself 😊
I still wonder how it all started and how I'm at this beautiful stage in my writing journey...I've heard of miracles but reading and rereading and feeling my smiles Getting wider the no. Of times I read this piece, I realize that a miracle had happened to me too, and I feel really happy and contented inside😊

I remember finding a scrap of faded school paper where I wrote a little story at age 6 or something like that. I was amazed at how complete my little story was, at that age. That's when I knew I was meant to be a writer. Even tho I did technical writing for pretty good money for 30+ years, I always dreamed of being a creative writer, which I'm finally pursuing now *smile*

Those first unintentionally written pieces are the masterpieces we as a writer truly pour out our heart in...And maybe it's because of this purity the smile widens and we feel contented reading and rereading that piece again and again💖😊

Life always gives us hints of what we are exactly meant to do and be. It's just how sooner we realize and start working on it 😊
I'm glad to know that you did technical writing for big 30 years, and made living for it too 😊

1:) Every poem which is written by anyone is worth - You have added your efforts and made it worth.
