To my Cowboy

To my Cowboy

A Poem by saudade

To my cowboy:

Standing there you're all I see

Battered and broken

Not a word can be spoken

The perfect one I promise to be

If only those eyes risk a glance at me

Hold on tight

Cowboy, I will be worth the fight

I wont let you fall

I am willing to risk it all

Take me in your arms

Let it be alright

Hold on tight

Cowboy, Im worth the fight

It’s there in your eyes, a promise of forever

I can hear it in the beat, but it belongs to another

Upon these lips, your sweet taste rest

An ache so strong, within this chest

You'll never let me  in, to ever be enough

Hold on tight,

Cowboy, I am worth the fight

Wrapped within your arms

Safe from the coming storm

Whisper to me

 A promise to be true

This vow I give to you

A love to strong to sway

Take me in, pull me close

Hold on tight

Cowboy, Im worth the fight

The softest stroke upon your face,

her memory I will never erase

I can never be who you wish from above

She's upon the winds of heavens love

There is no chance for me

This maybe true

For me, it will always be you

Hold on tight

Cowboy, Im worth the fight

There will be days darker than night

Where fears always find the light

Your fingers across your strings

Sing to me every dream

If you will hold on tight

Cowboy, I’m worth the fight

Wrap me in your arms

Pull me close

Give me safety, I’ll bring you rest

Distant my memory will take me

If you hold on tight

Cowboy, Im worth the fight

I will give to you

All the parts hidden within

Show me you can love

Let me show you where to begin

Hold on tight

Cowboy Im worth the fight

Lingering, her shadow

My love for you, I shall follow

One day I pray you want me forever

Take me in, pull me close

Hold on tight

Cowboy, you're worth the fight

Wrapped within your arms

Safe from the coming storm

Whisper to me, A promise to be true

I will surrender all to you

Hold on tight

Cowboy, Im worth the fight

Laid at your feet

Every shattered piece I keep

Tell me your fears

I will stand and fight

Give me more than this one night

Hold on tight

Cowboy we are worth the fight

Thank you, I didn't realize that but you're right! Funny how that wrote out, exactly my character.

A wonderful poem saudade! Usually the cowboy protects but you are the one that is protecting him.. "risk a glace" I love that phrase.
