Little Bird

Little Bird

A Poem by skinnybird
"

Still, this makes me feel a bit impatient.

"

becoming anxious
like a little bird before feeding
i wait for your shadow in the doorway
outlined by the impossible sun

still i think i will die
if i must wait a minute more
without you
but then that minute passes
and i recycle the same thought
over and over

i flip the same feeling over
in my stomach
 real flutter like
and in my chest
almost sharp and sinful

but in my mind i can see
you pulling up to the door
you smiling only a little
and me smiling a whole lot more
