Melody

A Poem by

Grass sways, dancing rhythms of the wind
Bare feet molded into the ground,
Savoring each hot step, skipping over ant mounds.
A sweet hymn flowing from angel's lips.

The face of sun,
smiling burning buckets of shine.
The warmth caressing my skin,
Thousand wishes that it were mine.

The wood flowing with brass
Strings pulled with each grasp.
The birds chirp along,
the vibrant summer songs of jazz.

Hands hung over the old guitar,
greenery hung over unhindered eyes.
The stretch of magical flowers,
captured in spells, one bound behind our ears.

Vibration echoes, the delicious rhythm
like sweet honey upon your lips.
Words drifting in the air,
falling into heartbroken hands.

Laying in the grass,
strumming souls to life.
Stitching memories together alas,
Watch youth fly red, gliding kites.

Sky speaks with images,
clouds floating under our dreams.
Marvelous blue painted across promised scrimmages,
Ice cream melting with every tamed second.

Strumming, hands interlace,
worries diminish, disappear without trace.
A melody playing softly,
summer stretching it's wings.

I love summer. I took a lot of time writing this because I had so much on my mind, but I wanted to make it as short as I could.

Its such a pretty poem it painted a picture in my mind that reminded me of my backyard in my old house my dad planted lots of trees and i'd run out there with my dog singing and it'd get things off my mind
But i moved out of that house because my dad owns it my mom got custody of us and.....
Great job!:)

I really like this poem. Summer (and nature) is beautiful, yet sometimes we fail to stop and appreciate it.

I love the image that your poem placed inside my mind. The beauty was amazing and I loved how you expressed every stanza with an image. Every line was beautiful and it spoke like a story. :) Congratz on the poem. It's beautiful! xD

The flow and imagery is beyond my vocabulary. I don't know enough words to say how much I love it. :)
