Fading

Fading

A Poem by

Wisps of red and white float around,

dissolving slowly into the atmosphere.

And I just stand there

trying to find my voice.

Trying to find the emotions

lost in the silent chaos.

Breathing in despair,

breathing in the hope

that has betrayed once again.

My lungs fill with hatred,

the hatred that seizes to mend.

And you still look through me,

I fail to put my walls up,

you break through the remaining debris,

the remains of my bursting soul.

There's no comfort,

always eyes to spare.

I haven't seen this old friend in a while,

I'd always thought it would stay this way.

My heart beats,

my pulse quickening.

A race against time,

is a race destined to fail.

But, you still look at me,

through dark brown eyes.

You can read the unspoken words,

running wild in my mind.

I'm an open book,

all there is to see.

Devour me,
Then put my pages down,

to catch the wavering dust.

And repeat same stories we once forgot.

But you embrace me with your arms,

speaking soft words of comfort,

a lullaby dripping from your mouth.

a light catching fire behind a lie.

Thoughts wander,

Words spill,

Voices muted,

And frayed pictures.

But all we see,

are hopes fading..

this is really really good! this is well writen and i could see and feel everything

Then put my pages down,
to catch the wavering dust.
And repeat same stories we once forgot.

i can see a figure putting pages of a story down and it is walking away as the dust filled wind blows the pages of someone's life away while it is repeating stories you forgot long ago. not many poems make me see things like this but this poem was one of a kind and i will NEVER forget it.

Well written, however, if you were to write this down in prose with proper punctuation you would end up with even better prose.

Beautiful poem! I can see that your definately an amazing writer. I love this poem. It has mixed feelings in it. I like how you wrote it. It has this sense of peace at the same time full of despair.. wrapped in your words. hmm.. great write! I enjoyed reading this. =D

Great emotions. Though I detect some discomfort, it is still calming because of the tone.

This poem is all mixed up in emotion. it has a feeling that its there but it isint; the kind of happy but sad at the same instant thing is going on. I had to re-read it so i could actually understand the twist in the emotions.
the lines "I haven't seen this old friend in a while,
I'd always thought it would stay this way."
made me think of a regretful relationship with someone that was never supposed to show up again.

To hold on to hope can be so hard sometimes but is so worth it in the end. Great poem, Twinkles

This is incredible. My favorite line was "a light catching fire behind a lie."
so realistic, yet described so eloquently. Keep it up.

A hope that lasts even through the worst experience, well done

If we allow our enthusiasms and hopes to fade, we fade also and the world becomes a thing of black and white.
Things are cyclic, with time there is resurgance and that can be a magnificent thing.

I found your words elegant and eloquent, clearly crafted in a pique of despair, yet ups and downs provide the context of life, bittersweet as it often is.

Gorgeous!
