Stars

Stars

A Poem by
"

A starry night for you and I

"
The stars are everywhere,
and the night is long.
Let us all make a wish,
and take a slowly, lovely walk.
They're shining so bright,
sparkles filling my eyes.
And I have a urging feeling in my mind,
to put out my small hand,
and keep it forever within my reach.
Just a starry night for you and me.
The remembered Moon is staring down,
lighting up what the lamps could not.
Shading a cast over everyone,
denting the streets into curving highways,
and forming the people into creatures of night.
I imagined us sitting upon the moon,
sleeping on it's soft white dust.
Naming thousands of stars,
and watching colorful comets fly around.
I imagined us going back in time,
and walking on aged, cobblestoned streets.
Greeting everyone that passed by,
and waltzing back and forth in the grand ball.
I imagined us together;
walking towards the orange sunset.
Gritty sand under our feet,
wringing between our bare toes.
Our first kiss below the cold, blue water.
I imagined us as crushes.
A flower looming right before a locker,
with a pink note,
barely legible writing.
Young, and vulnerable,
just how we love it.

This is beautiful! I loved the descriptions and imagery in this, I could picture everything you were portraying.

"lighting up the what the lamps could not." In this line you need to take out "the" before 'what' My only critique of the piece.

Great job!

No way, Twinkle wrote a poem about stars? That's poetic already. I can just imagine reading this to my future 9 year old daughter! You should write books and poems for children, that's settled.

This poem was akin to a fantasy film, part disney, part romance and fully readable many times over.

I can't even describe how much I love this. And I love even more the fact that there's someone else besides me that believes in wishing on stars. They're a topic I love, always will love. There's so many reasons, I can't list them all.

Great job, I loved the poem. Keep being a Shooting Star Wisher

Very pretty. I love looking up at the night sky and seeing the beauty. This poem places all the eyes that gaze up into the starry sky and creates a story. Nicely done and oh, so beautiful! :)

as well you should, for each star is someone else's sun and the bringer of life
for that galaxy. very nice poem with clear, defined intention and easily construed
meaning. excellent metaphoric value(my favorite game) which gives the work life
and color. i gotta go with kudos on this one...very good!

There is such a sense of hope in this poem that is heart warming. Though this is not my favorite poem of yours but it is still moving and heartfelt. I did enjoy reading it...good job. (ps. Never stop wishing on stars and always strive for them)

A beautiful write! I enjoy the imagery of this poem, and the stars the shines above when I read it, I believe in wishing upon a star, but I never see a start much, so its just kinda a dream to me. The edits you need to make its already told, so, let my focus of the poem itself :)
I love the hope you put in the poem, and I feel like wishing again =D
