Falling Inside Out

Falling Inside Out

A Poem by
"

It's getting harder to let go. My realization is a second one too late,

"
Running, running.
My legs can't seem to stop.
Your outstretched hand is mocking me,
and our eyes painfully lock.

I seem to be falling forever.
Holding out for a miracle.
Hoping for a hand,
to take me out of the darkness.

The wind rips my heart,
and all it's contents drop.
Photos, memories, strips of film,
pouring out, and dropping away.
My hand reaches out,
but all I seem to grab is air.

It's tearing me apart,
It's getting harder to let go,
My realization is a second one too late.
All the things I built,
now crumbling down.
I hate how it's killing me;
to hold onto my heart..

I really love this. Running and reaching for things as they fall and leave us. That first verse is powerful. The whole thing has this feel about that makes it seem almost like it's not a poem, but at the same time it's unbelievably poetic. (that makes no sense, but what can you expect? I don't make sense. :) )

Your pieces never fail to entertain me, and even when you seem inactive, I still hunt for your treasures, only because, you are THAT good.

I can connect with this poem really well. Trying to save something that is already crumbling at your finger tips whether it be love or even friendship. An amazing poem! Well done Twinkle~ I am shelving this

This is so emotional. It really makes you feel how desperate and wanting you are. I love things like that. Its just so believable. Really great job.

Letting go is always hard but we can hold on to the good memories and move forward. A melancholy piece, well written

Loved it. The story behind it is a story I think a lot of us go through, Trying to change ourselves for not only a guy but to a world around us that uses us and yet disapproves of us. It hurts that no matter how hard we may try we will never be good enough until we accept that we were already perfect as ourselves...a touch and beautiful poem. Loved it.

I love the last two lines...I feel like I have done that before. I tried to change myself for a guy just to hold onto him...but in the end I was losing who I was...this was great!
