A Poem by Satish Verma
"

Nonetheless

"
You have to die
to live again for bloodline.
See how the wind blows.

The black roses go
in flames. I change myself
to understand you.

There was no niche
in your wall to place my
deity to mirror me.

Satish,
What a lovely bunch of unfamiliar imagery! I am neither Buddhist, nor Hindu, so am terribly unsure of the nuance and meanings here, but they work anyway... The notion to live we must die! I wonder at the symbolism of black roses? And everyone needs a mirror to see God. A really intriguing poem...

This poem powerfully explores transformation and longing. The vivid imagery of "black roses" in flames is striking, and the ending suggests a deep search for identity. Overall, it's a thought-provoking piece!
