The Blessings Fail

The Blessings Fail

A Poem by Satish Verma
"

It was too loud to become a savior. You

"
It was too loud
to become a savior. You
longed for- only a
flower weight.

I wanted it to last-
my pain- lying to myself.
I will wait for the
sanity to reappear.

Too raw- the codex.
It burns the author. I
will have to learn-
a new alphabet.

The bell tolls,
bell tolls.
Take me to crypt in dark.
I have to read the walls again.

What a complicated poem, I'm not even sure what you intended to be about but it resounds with meaning in me. Love lost and seeking meaning in apocryphal scrawlings on the wall. You did not set a scene as much as you set a feeling.
