Reciting The Fake Poem

Reciting The Fake Poem

A Poem by Satish Verma
"

Making them dead― in a regal way,

"
Making them dead―
in a regal way,
you joined the bomb squad
of poems.
Why did I need to remember
you intensely O god?

Why eternity of enormous
pain would ensnare you? A group
of panthers were going to attack a fawn
in the blue game? Will
you hurt me one day?

You don't cover your eyes
with a black veil. Then what was
the purpose of becoming invisible?
Does a truth live in dark?

There was no
need of law, before
you die, after removing the makeup.
We always discover an excuse
to live lavishly on the hired
words of praise.

There are no more parables
no more prophets.

Your line breaks are very unsettling to read. It gives a very unnecessary awkward pause when the entire stanza is just a sentence without proper cutoffs. It's also a bit of a strange read in general. My guess would be that the poem is about the meaninglessness of life in the face of death(?) but even that is a stretch. Would love to hear the meaning of the poem from you though.

Reciting of fake poem. What it's can be it's reaction on some fake poetry here or it's metaphor on our illusions or allusions . Lines are very symbolic and there is lot of mystery at meaning. My favorite line is about make up. We all covered our true self with words or colors. True can make us too transparent . Words of praises are very clever tool to control people and make them like a slaves without they even know it. That last line there are no more prophets make it clear. Our world is infiltrated by false statements and dishonest actions. This poem goes very deep inside of us. Cause it's raising question are we not also fake.
