the final wreckA Poem by anaoriginally written for a submissionWhere
does one end? Constantly
spilling over, Tainting
the ones around you, Anyone
who dares to command you To
change. Maybe
you were living in disguise For way
too long. Do you
remember how it feels To
scream? To
bleed? To
burn? Maybe
you don’t, And
that’s okay too. Now you
are barefoot, Satin
on your ankles, As you
walk through the thicket Of your
past Choices, Fights, Lives. You can
smell it, Taste
it, Before
you can see it. The sea
salt feels heavy on your tongue, Maybe
just as heavy as what’s in your Pockets. © 2022 anaAuthor's Note
