things that make girlhood enjoyable

things that make girlhood enjoyable

A Poem by ana
"

wrote this lil piece a while back

"

Wiping off lipstick after a night out,

To stretch like a cat,

To paint your nails,

To pick the nail polish off your nails,

The smell of a man’s cologne,

The safety that comes with that.

To hold your friends,

To braid your own hair,

To not live for others,

To pinch your own cheeks,

To endure the hard (ships),

To remain soft.

This is neat. It reads like a diary entry from a young girl.

thank you winston for your review :)
My girls would say daddy. (laughing) plus, breakfasts in bed, music on the radio, dancing in the kitchen, lounging in their pajamas or sweatpants, definitely painting their nails, walks in the park, shopping at the mall, dressing up for no reason, jewelry (especially earrings), fuzzy socks, hugs and boys. I love my daughters. I've got one seven and one thirty-seven. The older one is married with three kids of her own. My oldest and I still talk at least once a week even though she is over four thousand miles away. I enjoyed reading your list of what has made being a girl fun for you.

thats so sweet! trust me, these are the moments she'll remember forever.
I don't know your age, but by all means hold on to this one and read it on occasion. For a time will come when that girl will seem a stranger, and you don't want to lose her entirely.

I enjoy this nice little piece of writing. You speak to a perspective I have often wondered. I only know what it was like growing up as a boy. These words reveal so much. A wonderful piece of poetry.
