Wounded Pride

Wounded Pride

A Poem by SofiaBeliever
"

A woman distraught, unable to make up her mind. Hurt by the one person who loved her trying to stand without falling.

"
Here the heart lies wounded, bleeding
Disappointed from walking away from the mind
They were one agreeing on everything
Until the heart stopped listening
The mind searches for the heart everywhere confused, distraught
One day they find each other
Mind gives heart a smile, and an outstretched hand
The heart looks up and takes the outstretched hand
Together again the mind consoles the heart
Giving sense, logic, and positive vibes
The heart in return provides empathy, compassion, and love
Bound together by their mutual love for each other
They keep the body unified To fight another day

Wow, this poem is beautiful. Definitely could personally relate to this poem myself and have seen it in other people. Personally, the poem speaks on a level of broken unity, but hope once again found. It's also self-awareness that allows for the mind and heart to once again walk in sync to eachother. Far too often, when one doesn't agree with the other it can be a terrible and scary thought. This poem expresses very well that thought of togetherness and even suggests that the "health of the body" depends on the mind and heart being agreement with eachother. Look forward to reading more of your work. Well done!
