Wake up, eat breakfast, brush the teeth, pay rent

Wake up, eat breakfast, brush the teeth, pay rent

A Poem by Sasha Fields

Wake up, eat breakfast, brush the teeth, pay rent,

Trite days are ahead, so best realize,

Now and forevermore my life is spent.

Life is not but a dream and we are content,

Knowing the days will pass without surprise,

Wake up, eat breakfast, brush the teeth, pay rent.

Hallow men, stuffed men will never consent,

To wars and deeds that may lead to demise,

Now and forevermore my life is spent.

In this see-through world, I passed a gent,

Whose plans were obvious through his glass eyes,

Wake up, eat breakfast, brush the teeth, pay rent.

How does one live in a world so bent,

On banality produced by white lies,

Now and forevermore my life is spent.

Vacant heads cannot know how I lament,

Acting complacent as my spirit dies,

Wake up, eat breakfast, brush the teeth, pay rent,

Now and forevermore my life is spent.
