Chapter 06

Chapter 06

A Chapter by Sarah

The wind blows in my hair, swaying it in a random direction. The trees blows onto our faces, making the already humid air touch our faces with its fingers. I can hear the animals in the forest training area call out to each other; the cries of birds are to be heard from all around. My eyes dart from one corner of this place to another, taking in the forest destination.

However, as my eyes glance around the place, I noticed there was a flag, a white flag, off in the distance. Oh no, I know what we’re going to do, and I really don’t want to. The trainer holds a serious expression as she explains to Andy and Raj something that I can’t hear. I glance towards at Black Rose, only to realise that she wasn’t in the mood for fooling around.

The trainer claps her hands, “Alright! At the end of this path lies a white flag, your job is to grab that flag and place it in your turf!” She smirks, “However, that is only the easy bit! The only rule in this game is that you are not allowed to be seen by your opponents!”

Raj raised a brow, “What, like we have to become invisible?”

“Not invisible, just camouflaged!”

“BUT MISS, I CAN’T DO THAT!” Andy complains, “There’s no way anyone can become invisible, especially him!” He points at me, jabbing into my chest, “This one can only burn the place down!”

“Hey! I can do more than that!” I glare, my hair bringing out red flames, “You just wait!”

“Sure you can, like you can burn the tree down yesterday!”

“Oh, so it was you…” Black Rose stares flatly, “You’re an idiot, and I have to work with you…Pazzo…”

“ENOUGH!” The trainer got our attention, “Anyway, the first to bring the flag to their turf wins! Any questions or complaints about this?!” We all put our hands up, but she only laughs, “Okay, let’s begin!”

The gun was shot, and the other team got a minute head start, trying to find their turf. Once we were allowed to go, I was immediately shot into the air, landing on some random branch. I glare at the person who done it, but instantly she told me to shut up. Her expression was so focused on something that I could really tell what she was thinking. She glared at the flag, then noticing a blue and red square in the middle of the forest. She nudge my shoulder, “Come.”

Jumping down towards the ground, we began to run towards the turf, blocking some branches and trees in our way. Stoping every ten minutes so, we listened to the surroundings, trying to figure out if Raj and Andy were following us. Seeing as they weren’t we continued to run until we made it the centre of the turf, meeting with weapons.

Guns to daggers, all kinds of weapons were at our grasp, eyeing us to use them. Black Rose wasted no time picking out a gun, before jumping into the air. I stood there, thinking.

What weapon? I’ve never used any before, so I haven’t got a clue. People told me that it was easier to use swords and daggers than guns, but I don’t know. With guns, all it takes is one bullet than the opponent it shot down, but with swords you stab them from behind. My eyes raced across these weapons, but my hands oddly went for the daggers. As I picked them up, I notice that I was alone.

I looked around, but I didn’t spot Black Rose anywhere. Just where was she? Just as I started to walk out, a stone landed on my head. I looked up, seeing the person herself glaring down at me, looking as if she could kill me. She hisses, “Get up here!”

I roll my eyes, “Easy for you to say, I can’t jump like you can.”

“Just get up here!”

“I cannot, because I can’t get up there! Are you even listening to me?!” Andy’s shouts were easily heard, and my head shot back to her, “Please help me up!”

She groaned, mumbling something that I couldn’t understand. Clicking her fingers, a gust of wind blow me up and set me next to her. Glaring, she sighs, “Happy now?”

I’m stunned, she had wind?! That’s one of the four best abilities you could ever ask for, “You have wind?!”

“Shut up and follow me!” She begins to run along the branches, not showing any signs of unbalance.

I follow, not wanting my head blown off by her gun. We manage to make it far from our turf, but not far enough. The flag is in site, so we continue this stealth until we reach another tree. That’s when I notice Andy and Raj running below us. Black Rose saw this too, and we quickened our pace until we reach the top.

It’s such a nice view from up here, but I don’t see what the point of this is. That was, until Black Rose claps her hand together, and slowly bringing them apart, air trapped in her hands. She kept turning her hand in a circular motion, until the air turned a navy blue. She stared at me, “Make fire.”

“What?”

“Make fire.”

“Okay then?” I click my fingers several times and managed to gather a flame at the centre of my hand. It was a red flame, but I wondered if she wanted it blue. “You want it hotter?”

“Yeah.” I made a blue flame; my hair was red with fire coming out of it. She then cupped the flame within the air, swirling it around until she had a fire ball in her hands.

This shocked me, “How did you do that?!”

She raised a brow, “All air ability people can do it, and it’s quite easy!” A shout was heard from a distance, and she ran, “Come on!”

We ran more, with only our toes on the branch. They seemed to be getting thinner; I wasn’t sure what I was going to do when I ran out of branch. We came to a clearing, and she jumped, landing on the other branch. I jumped too, but I slipped and fell towards the ground. I landed with a thump, flat on my stomach.

The grass seems to be very long; however it doesn’t camouflage me enough. Raj was the one who spotted me first, throwing daggers at me. I shot up, running while dodging daggers and knifes in my path. Apparently, Andy decided to take knifes, interesting tactic I must say. However, it wasn’t cleaver enough, as Black Rose jumped down from her place, holding the fire ball in her hand.

Andy was taken aback by this, “You’re not allowed to do that!”

Black Rose sneered, “Says who?”

“Well, say the rules! It’s against the rules to use our abilities!”

“I don’t care about the rules…” She throws the fire ball, before dragging me towards the flag. I could hear their cries of pain, but she just kept dragging me.

Once we got near our destination, we could see our flag that we needed. However, we also could see our trainer, in fact, four trainers. What did these guys want?

We arrived, and I huffed, “May we help you?”

Our trainer for today just glared at Black Rose, “Daniel, you may go, I need to discuss something with Black Rose.”

“Okay?”

As I walked away, I could see their bickering. I made my way over to Andy. He sighed, “All I can say is, she won’t be in a good mood for quite a while!” We ran as we saw her hard glare on us.

I’m officially going to die.
