Chapter 06

Chapter 06

A Chapter by Sarah

Our minds are in the world of confusion at the moment. Well, mine is, Casey is still scared out of her wits. Who’s coming to get me? I hope it’s not Tiffany, yet again, it seems like the case. However, that seems too easy of a plan. I think she has something up her sleeves, but what though? I think that something unordinary is going to come up, but I don’t know.

I notice that the mirror is now broken, glass is shattered all over the floor below me. The lights from outside shines down the glass, making it shine. This causes me to wince, flinching at the light on my eyes. It makes my eyes sore, however, despite this pain from my eyes, I notice there’s a note left on the ground. Strange, I don’t remember that being there a moment ago. It’s all tattered and burnt, probably from that girl. It has my name on it, right in the centre. Black ink is blotched out on some random parts of the page, it may have been written in a rush.

Unfolding the letter, I began to read its contents.

Alice,

You are in great danger. Someone is coming to get you and drag you into this world behind the mirror. I have this feeling that the person is also going to grab Casey, your friend. Please do not hesitate about the details I have given you, because this is all I know.

The people behind the mirror are waiting for your arrival along with Casey. Why this is, I do not have a clue I’m afraid. This information is unknown to me in why they are expecting for you, however, I can give you this. Watch yourself in your world, and expect the unexpected when it comes to you.

I am desperately sorry if this doesn’t clear some thoughts in your mind, Alice, but I’ll assure you that something will be relevant for you within this letter.

-Hope.

Great danger? This does clear some things that I have on my mind, but not enough. However, this only causes more questions. Who is the person? Why am I in great danger? Why are the people waiting for me? All these questions are swimming through my mind, but I’m trying to settle it. I take a deep breath, clearing my mind and focusing on one thing. The person. It has to be Tiffany, it makes sense that way. However, the world never makes sense, the unexpected and unimaginable is always there, waiting for people to come at it. Although, I don’t know.

I hear Casey finally breathe again, “What in God’s name was that?!”

I sigh, showing her the note, “I don’t know, but I can assure you that it’ll happen again, on an unexpected day.”

“Huh?”

“Things will change from this point on, Casey.”

She stares at the note, then the broken glass on the floor. She gulps, “When will they happen?”

I shrug, opening the door, “I haven’t got a clue…” I start to walk towards the library.

She runs after me, hand on my shoulder, “Let me get this straight. You see this happen, see the letter that makes no sense in my eyes, and presume that things will change on some random day?”

“I suppose that is a probability. Yet again, who knows? The world changes anyway, so why should we dwell on this, eh?” I enter the library, browning out the book I found in the morning.

“Oh, I don’t know. Maybe it’s because that our mirror is broken, the girl just came into our room saying that there are bad copies of us, and scaring me half to death?!” She groans, “Can’t leave that detail out, now can we?”

I thought through it. Those facts are completely true. However, I’m not too sure on this bad copy thing. Yes, she is my bad copy, but it all depends on your middle names, to me, that fact doesn’t make any sense. Why would it count on your middle name anyway? What if you have seven middle names and all of them on the other side of the mirror were bad copies? Also, what are bad copies? Do they have a disability or something? It’s all confusing.

I walk back towards our room, when something clicks. That puddle, maybe a clue is there in what will happen next. I run towards the puddle, Casey not far behind, and skited to a stop. The ground seemed to have dried up ever since the rain had stopped falling, however, something seems different. It’s the atmosphere; it seems more low-spirited than it was before, as if everything’s dead. I look around, and see no one but Casey in sight.

This is all to strange. What’s going to happen?
