Sweet DreamsA Poem by Sargon DorsaiA sonnet about slipping into the Sandman's EmbraceThe weight of time tugging upon my eyes Amidst the sandman’s administration and dancing fairies with their fluted cries Are wielding Twilight’s retaliation For though we seek to deny the calling Of sweet seductive slumber’s beckoning the flesh is weak, we find ourselves falling Beneath the hold of quiet reckoning And as the weary lids begin to close Morpheus enfolding us in his arms the symphony of dreams we soon compose To see the world through unimagined charms Sweat dreams, until we wake again, sweet dreams In lands always unraveling at the seams
