A Warriors Heart

A Warriors Heart

A Poem by Connie
"

overcoming the intents of others

"

In your face I clearly see

Your willful intent to inflict on me

With lying eyes and jealously

Your words and eyes, contradictory-

I will not drown in your poison sea...

I do not submit willingly-

I stand on shore under green canopies

With a warriors heart I refuse to bleed

Or let you drain the life from me-

Your blackened heart mocks concern for me

What you don't know is that I don't believe

I embrace the gift which helps me see...

Though I play along to watch you bleed

Your actions scream of contempt for me

Because you can't feel the life I lead

I'll never fall prey again to your misdeeds

I am strong and intend to BE-

I do not follow anyone's lead

Your greedy heart spreads disease

An evil blackened misery...

In which your heart spews bitterly

Good riddance to you and your beliefs

My heart smiles brightly as I run free

The warm sun enveloping me...

Like an old friend that I can truly believe.

another very "freeing" kind of poem...

well done with the rhyme and near rhyme...the sound of this is that steady beat of moving on.....moving on...believing in one's self...finally.
