Daisy & OllieA Poem by ConnieWe lost our 2 beloved dogs within 4 months of one another. Their names are Daisy & Oliver. We had them for approx 9 years, they were rescues. I have had a real hard time accepting their deaths.
Summer is over Gone are those warm winds The trees are shedding their leaves Preparing to stand bare, cold & grey- Lifeless, a somber reminder of death. I think of you again Sad memories from last winter- I don’t look forward to the cold again Forever branded as the season of mourning
Winter will never be the same.
An anniversary passed And another soon to come This sadness brings tears again With the losses of loved ones Who shared our lives for so long- Now gone…
Though forever in our hearts.
Alive with memories of past days Laughter and tears Through the sun filled rays Full of love even on cloudy days- Now only emptiness remains inside these walls
I still see you
I suppose in time less tears I'll cry Though the sweet memories of you shall reside Within the corners of my depleted mind- Trying to accept what is left behind While this empty place still hides in my heart
I'll never forget you
Oliver 2-2-15
