Nature MaidenA Poem by ConnieMy experiences, connection and views of Mother Earth.I am married to the earth A natural child- I was bore from wildflowers I'm free and wild- On the wings of butterflies Under sunny skies On tree tops so high- Which sway as they wave to the open skies. Majestic birds fly and fly Watching me as they go by.
I feel the winds As they touch my skin I embrace them Before they leave again- Carried away To another stretch Of mountains and flowers And quiet serenity- Leave me here as I am free, Free as I want to be- I am your maiden.
Among these pines And my hands sunken Into the warm earth, The aromas provoke my mind- You can't see me here This is my dwelling- Picking wild thyme and Concealed among the sticky pines Coyotes calling as they ride- I don’t see them because they hide.
I lay on the warm rubble Of what's left from another time- Only this foundation remains I bathe upon it in the warm sunshine. Up so high & miles wide Like the fog among tree tops I playfully reside. Quiet and serene Renewing my mind My heart smiles inside- I am whole here I am your maiden.
As I tend to her With love & respect It's only here I connect I am lost outside this circle All I need is here- I can't go back For my soul would feel neglect I am her keeper, Her maiden.
Until I am one with her again And I bear new wildflowers- It's in this circle of life that again I'll be wild and free, I'll be the warm wind that hugs you Under blue sunny skies… I am your Nature Maiden, Please tend to me.
