Liquidation

Liquidation

A Poem by saratogaparty

So I tell myself simply

“I have to forget,”

And I liquidate my apartment of anything

That would remind me of

You.

I’m running out of words for

Disappointed. I’m running out of

Room for tolerance.

I want to tell his eyes to

Stop undressing me with

Hungry, starving intentions.

I’m on my own tonight.

I’m just here to

Tell the story

I’m just here to

Tell the story

Won’t you please just

Let me tell the story?

I’m not trying to right wrongs

Pay debts or get revenge.

I’m just trying to

Survive.

And it’ll feel less fresh when the

Years travel on and it’ll feel less

Raw as the weeks go on

I know it now, I know it now

Emotions are just a game we

Play.

I know it now I know it now

I’ll tell the memories to

Leave a name number"

Message and I’ll get back

As soon as I possibly

Find my way.

I don’t know how to say

Goodbye. But I’ve learned from

All of the ones that never

Said it.

Liquidation is a really interesting title for a poem, so I had a lot of hope and I think you did well, I think the situation you described is something that a lot of people can relate to, it'll spark a lot of emotion. Thanks for writing!
