Jungle DreamsA Poem by saratogapartyYou locked your Jungle Dreams In the wooden chest in the attic. The wilderness was never too Far off. (ECHOINGS OF cawcaw caw caw)
But Reality came around Whistling her song (You know the I’m talking about, The seven dwarves sing it Hi Ho Hi Ho)
I saw your Jungle Dreams yesterday Calling to the moon through sovereign Trees and empty wilderness.
They called to me as I was salivating On fresh envelopes, forcing them to Shut. My mind responded To the wilderness cry But waited for the time clock To catch up before
The Jungle Dreams were Dusted off and Welcomed Home. You always hoped for a reason For the Jungle Dreams to prowl The city. Prowl the exhausted hearts Of all of these
Depleted people At red light lights, burning Their energy down to its Filter.
And you lost it Somewhere. (Maybe with your keys Or that bill or my other Goddamn shoe.) © 2013 saratogapartyReviews
