Elmer's GlueA Poem by saratogapartyThe people that stick are like Elmer’s glue. Simple, But there to hold pieces of macaroni for you while you’re Out being young
learning which way the world spins And which direction to stand to make Time stop ticking in your ear on the days you just don’t have it in you to leave your bed.
The people that stick Hold the pieces of you Together And you don’t have to worry about The right thing to say or Loving them too much Because it’s mutual and It’s real. And every conversation You have leads to
Another And nothing matters Because you’re around to sing our favorite song Discuss the newest episode of Shameless or Californication Or Mad Men Or even The Walking Dead.
Because plots thicken, And life gets interesting But most people don’t notice
Because they’re too busy trying to Keep themselves Together. Or smothering glue on the next one Hoping that someone will stick Around. © 2013 saratogapartyReviews
