Different

Different

A Chapter by Sara Elyse Abrams

Why is it that if we are different,

We hide it?

Like if anyone knew we were different,

We would be outcasts.

Separated from society,

Rejected by the world.

It does not matter if the difference is the pimples on your back,

Or the fact that you can move things with your mind.

We hide it.

Constantly;

So that everyone thinks we are normal.

We are not normal though,

We are the freaks of society.

We are the people others look at differently,

Because they know we are different,

Because they know we are not equal.

Not in their eyes at least.

This is the story for people like me,

Freaks of society.
