Death to the

Death to the

A Poem by Sara Elyse Abrams

Death to the one who believed in themselves,

Death to the one who couldn’t do anything else,

Death to the one who tried to succeed,

Death to the one who tried not to bleed.

Death to the one who cared for others,

Death to the one who tried to love her,

Death to the one who worked harder than the rest,

Death to the one who always tried their best.

Death to the one who you loved all your life,

Death to the one who stabbed you with a knife.

Death to the innocent,

Death to the guilty,

Death to the poor,

And death to the wealthy,

You could be the best,

You could be the worst,

Death happens to us all,

It is just a matter of who it hits first.

Well it sure gets to the root of it, why does it? Wonderful poem I believe as it certainly expresses (At least to me) what shall inevitably happen no matter what we do. Well put.

Thank you so much for this review.
Indeed, death is an equal opportunity destroyer.
