The Crying WomanA Poem by Sarah HinesBased on "La Llorona" legend from South America. This is the first poem I've written since I was, like, 10. ^_^She thought his love would be hers In exchange for her childrens’ lives Her sweet little ones’ deaths only incurs A Hellbound eternity of soulless drive She now takes the ones caught exploring Too far from their mothers’ watchful eyes But nothing stills the frantic imploring Of her begging babies’ last garbled cries She tries to drown them out with her own Though she wishes to drown herself instead And should a child wander alone And hear her wailing far ahead He knows, to his sadness and despair That he will never see tomorrow For she’s at his side, and now he must share The Crying Woman’s endless sorrow © 2015 Sarah Hines |
