Not For YouA Poem by Sarah Jane EdingerSometimes we are forced to deal with people that do not have good intentions towards a given situation. Perhaps the intent was good in their eyes, but they are unable to witness the truth for themselves.
You've been falling all along. Trying to pull us down; you killed options from the start... And now the gravity of your descent proves detrimental to our hearts.
You've starved yourself of knowing of how grand this all could be. The time has come for showing; and seeing has set us free.
She's got it all; the wisdom and the grace. She's got it all; and you can't lay that to waste.
My blood is not for your mistakes.
From where we began; in the first moments of trying you always ran straight to the water when you knew not how to swim. Now you're drowning in the depths; the dreams you're living in.
She's got it all; the wisdom and the grace. She's got it all; and it's not for you to waste.
My blood is not for your mistakes.
You need to let it go; It was never yours to hold. You've got some circumstances of your own. And that you could be so bold; to spill your blood for sympathy, it's no wonder you're so cold.
I remember all the times your innocent play on heavy words tugged on my soul. Still I stay on the surface; treading with your rocks below me. You make my strokes reach farther; you've made me that much stronger, and it's been in my blood all along.
She's got it all; the wisdom and the grace. She's got it all; look at her and see my face.
My blood is not for your mistakes.
