i wish it were tuesday

i wish it were tuesday

A Poem by sarahofsparta
"

(the shame of nights hadn't hit us yet)

"

remember when w****s were pretty but explosions weren't

when cigarettes were still sexy and the idea of

tomorrows lasted longer than yesterdays

(the shame of nights hadn't hit us yet) and

remember when happiness was a rain-soaked smile

and a half-lit lamp that illuminated the wreck

of the car [and our lives] and we grinned at our

misfortune and laughed and laughed and laughed

because i do.

. oh, i remember ... and now even the laughter seems hollow ... a very powerful write indeed ... brilliantly titled and brilliantly written ...

I remember so many things, but not quite that. Your screen name and about information intrigued me. I figured you'd be a poet to keep an eye on and I sure wasn't disappointed. Looking forward to reading more of your work. Welcome to the writer's cafe.
