The Lies

The Lies

A Poem by Sarah Lynn

How can you ever know if someone is being truthful?

When all you've ever known is lies.

Do their eyes really speak the truth as well?

Or is it all just a clever disguise?

How do you know when its okay to trust someone?

When all you have ever been is betrayed.

Is it the way there body language speaks?

We can never really be to sure.

Is it the way they speak? When their words come out, sweet as pie?

Or could that be the very thing that says they're telling a little white lie.

You can never really know who trust in the world.

This world is just built of lies.

You'd think if someone actually told the truth around here they'd just fall down and die.

This is so true. It's fucked up how one person does us wrong and we can't trust the whole world anymore, but it's the sad truth. Good job hunni :)
