It's Gone

It's Gone

A Poem by The Adventure

One Mistake

One mistake is all it takes

To turn a course around

Dig you six feet underground

To be lost when finally found.

An irresponsible choice

Can lead to a large problem,

And die where you have fallen,

Can make your world more solemn.

No chance to turn around

And get everything back,

To pull back the slack.

Now, dreams are what you lack.

Dreams of one day going far:

A summer spent well.

Now, all you do is dwell

On your personally made hell.

Wave goodbye to my dreams,

For now they’re naught but fake.

One mess-up is all it takes

To make your biggest mistake.
