Unfamiliar

Unfamiliar

A Poem by The Adventure
"

18 February 2010

"

Why do you make my heart race,

In a pattern unfamiliar,

In a way that's so peculiar,

Why does it beat to your rhythm and pace?

Why do your eyes make me melt?

Underneath your dark hair.

I can feel your presence everywhere.

You make me feel like I've never felt.

Your closeness turns me red,

With your smile so divine,

I feel your body next to mine,

Something’s wrong in my head!

But now, in your own face

Something feels very, very wrong,

Because I know I'll never belong

In your arms, your sweet embrace.

I like how the poem gets an image of passion and love and then breaks it in the third and fourth stanza, exactly how the speaker in the poem feels. Keep writing, I like it.
